REPRESENTATIVE GREG SMITH RECEIVES ENDORSEMENT FROM
THE OREGON CHIEFS OF POLICE ASSOCIATION

HEPPNER, OR. – Representative Greg Smith (R-Heppner), who has served District 57 for 26 years, has received the official endorsement of the Oregon Chiefs of Police Association. This endorsement recognizes Smith’s longstanding dedication to law enforcement, officer safety, and the well-being of the communities he serves.
The Oregon Chiefs of Police Association commended Representative Smith’s steadfast support for public safety and his tireless advocacy for law enforcement. “Representative Smith has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to the men and women who safeguard our communities,” said Boardman Police Chief Rick Stokoe. “His leadership and advocacy for responsible law enforcement have served all East Oregonians very well.”

Throughout his tenure, Representative Smith has closely collaborated with law enforcement, championing initiatives that provide financial resources for officers, enhance emergency response capabilities, and foster community-oriented policing. During the 2021 Legislative session, Representative Smith secured $3.0 million for the construction of the $8.24 million Milton-Freewater police station. Former Milton-Freewater City Manager Linda Hall, expressed his gratitude, saying, “Milton-Freewater could always rely on Representative Smith to support the city’s public safety initiatives.”
