Representative Greg Smith Comments on Quarterly Revenue Forecast

 

SALEM, Ore. – Representative Greg Smith (R-Heppner) released the following statement in response to the revenue forecast announced today:

“Today’s revenue forecast illustrates that the State’s economy remains healthy, however, many Oregonians are struggling due to the instability of inflation. Given this, fiscal prudence is paramount when managing Oregon’s finances and balancing the budget. The legislature must take a balanced approach by prioritizing investment in critical programs and infrastructure projects.”

 

Representative Greg Smith is currently serving his twelfth term as a State Representative, making him the longest serving member in the Oregon Legislature. He holds a gavel as the Co-Chair of the Joint Ways and Means Subcommittee on General Government. Representative Smith also serves as the Co-Vice Chair of the full Joint Ways and Means Committee.
