Press Release: Additional Funding for the Raymond F. Rees Training Facility

SALEM, Ore. – Today, the Joint Committee On Ways and Means Subcommittee On Capital Construction voted to increase the federal funds capital construction expenditure limitation by $20,243,000 for the Camp Umatilla Baracks at the Raymond F. Rees Training Center. This funding was contained within the -1 amendment to SB 5544. The legislation now moves to the full Joint Committee On Ways and Means.
“This funding is intended to support public safety and defense efforts in the State of Oregon” said Representative Greg Smith (R-Heppner) “As a member of the Capital Construction Subcommittee, it was my pleasure to vote for additional public safety funding”.
Representative Greg Smith is currently serving his twelfth term as a State Representative, making him the longest serving member in the Oregon Legislature. He holds a gavel as the Co-Chair of the Joint Ways and Means Subcommittee on General Government. Representative Smith also serves as the Co-Vice Chair of the full Joint Ways and Means Committee.
