Oregon Rep. Greg Smith seeks reelection to Oregon Legislature

HEPPNER — Oregon House District 57 Rep. Greg Smith filed Jan. 1 for reelection.
The Republican from Heppner has served in 13 terms since 2001, becoming the longest-serving member in the House in 2025.
Smith serves as co-vice chair of the Joint Ways and Means Committee, which oversees the state budget. He also sits on the Ways and Means subcommittees on capital construction and general government, the Joint Committee On Legislative Administration, Joint Emergency Board and House Interim Committee on Revenue.

Smith also recently received endorsements from the Associated Oregon Loggers and the Young Republicans of Oregon. In previous election campaigns, he earned endorsements from the National Rifle Association and the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, among others.
“I’m learning more and more that politics is a tough business and at the end of the day, the reason I signed up was to serve my community,” he said in a recent interview with the East Oregonian. “My community represents nine counties, and I think I’m in the best position of folks in District 57 to represent them and to represent their interests.”
