Representative Greg Smith Votes to Fund the Ordnance Regional Water Infrastructure Project
SALEM, Ore. – Today, the Joint Ways and Means committee passed HB 5043. The measure appropriates funding to the Water Resources Department, including a $6,000,000 grant to Umatilla County for the Ordnance Regional Water Infrastructure Project. The bill now heads to the the floor of both chambers for a final vote.
“The Ordnance Project is critical to the Umatilla Basin and District 57 at large,” said Representative Smith (R-Heppner) ” As Co-Vice Chair of the committee, it was my pleasure to advocate for this funding and give a yes vote on HB 5043.”
Representative Greg Smith is currently serving his twelfth term as a State Representative, making him the longest serving member in the Oregon Legislature. He holds a gavel as the Co-Chair of the Joint Ways and Means Subcommittee on General Government. Representative Smith also serves as the Co-Vice Chair of the full Joint Ways and Means Committee.
